Mercoledì 21 settembre l’ing. Matteo Picchiani, Chief Technical Officer in GMATICS, presenterà l’innovazione offerta dal progetto DYDAS in occasione del “ELIS Graduate Innovation Day“.
Si tratta di un evento per la celebrazione della fine dell’anno accademico 2021-22 della Digital University (il corso di laurea in Ingegneria informatica realizzato in collaborazione con il Politecnico di Milano) in cui si premiano i migliori progetti aziendali nei quali sono stati coinvolti gli allievi del corso di laurea.
DYDAS sarà pertanto presente in uno stand dove l’Ing. Picchiani svolgerà una presentazione dedicata ad illustrare le molteplici opportunità offerte dalla piattaforma digitale DYDAS (realizzata nell’ambito del medesimo progetto co-finanziato dal Programma CEF Connecting Europe Facility) per la creazione di servizi dedicati all’analisi di grande mole di dati. L’esperienza maturata da GMATICS consentono altresì di valorizzare quest’innovazione europea/internazionale. Per fare un esempio dei prodotti/servizi GMATICS il team di lavoro ha potuto mettere a punto una metodologia integrata che combina l’utilizzo di dati satellitari multi-temporali di osservazione della Terra e dati meteo satellitari all’interno di un modello di crescita forestale, per fornire informazioni regolari e affidabili sullo stato e la coerenza delle foreste a sostegno della gestione sostenibile delle foreste. I principali risultati di questo servizio sono lo strato di classificazione forestale, lo strato di disturbo forestale e le stime della biomassa forestale. Ma i servizi e le potenzialità offerte da DYDAS sono applicabili in tutte le discipline, basti considerare i tre casi d’uso (Energia, Mobilità, Ambiente Marino) in cui i partner stanno operando.
Nell’ambito del programma della giornata che prevede anche dei momenti dedicati a presentare iniziative di ELIS Innovation Hub come il lancio dei progetti basati su un approccio di Open Innovation e la Startup Alliance.
Al termine della premiazione, alle 19.00, sono lieta di invitarti al momento dedicato al rinnovo della community Fellow ELIS con l’Inspiring Talk dal titolo “Quello che i libri non possono trasmettere: la passione per il lavoro ben fatto” per celebrare la nuova nomina. Concluderemo con la consegna delle pergamene ai Fellow da parte del Ministro Vittorio Colao e un’apericena per chiudere la giornata in modo informale.

DYDAS at the “ELIS Graduate Innovation Day”
Wednesday 21st September Eng. Matteo Picchiani, Chief Technical Officer in GMATICS, will present the innovation offered by the DYDAS project on the occasion of the “ELIS Graduate Innovation Day”.
This is an event for the celebration of the end of the academic year 2021-22 of the Digital University (the degree course in computer engineering carried out in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano) in which the best corporate projects in which they have been involved are awarded students of the degree course.
DYDAS will therefore be present in a stand where Eng. Picchiani will give a presentation dedicated to illustrating the multiple opportunities offered by the DYDAS digital platform (created as part of the same project co-financed by the CEF Connecting Europe Facility Program) for the creation of services dedicated to the analysis of large amounts of data. The experience gained by GMATICS also makes it possible to enhance this European / international innovation. To give an example of GMATICS products / services, the team was able to develop an integrated methodology that combines the use of multi-temporal Earth observation satellite data and satellite weather data within a forest growth model. to provide regular and reliable information on the state and consistency of forests in support of sustainable forest management. The main results of this service are the forest classification layer, the forest disturbance layer and forest biomass estimates. But the services and potential offered by DYDAS are applicable in all disciplines, just consider the three use cases (Energy, Mobility, Marine Environment) in which the partners are operating.
As part of the day’s program which also includes moments dedicated to presenting ELIS Innovation Hub initiatives such as the launch of projects based on an Open Innovation approach and the Startup Alliance.
At the end of the award ceremony, at 7.00 pm, I am pleased to invite you to the moment dedicated to the renewal of the ELIS Fellow community with the Inspiring Talk entitled “What books cannot convey: the passion for a job well done” to celebrate the new appointment . We will conclude with the delivery of the parchments to the Fellows by Minister Vittorio Colao and an aperitif to end the day informally.
